Paws In The Park

On Saturday, October 16, 2004, the Save The Animals Foundation (STAF) held its 7th annual Paws In The Park fundraiser in the beautiful Atkinson Memorial Park in Sewell, New Jersey. Once a year the park ignores its “No Dogs Allowed” rule much to the delight of many local residents. All tails were wagging as vendors greeted the dogs (and their walkers!) along the concrete path that winds through the perfectly manicured South Jersey park.

A fun filled day was planned for all who attended this years' event! Contestants lined up for the Best Halloween Costume and the Dog/Owner Look-Alike contest. There was even a clergy there for a Blessing of the animals.

STAF is a non-profit, volunteer group that is based in Gloucester County, New Jersey. Caring for unwanted and neglected pets is costly. This is why the organization finds innovative ways to raise funds, such as Paws In The Park, in order to spark awareness and get the community involved. It is the main goal of STAF to educate the public and to promote the humane care of companion animals as well as respect for all living creatures.

To help STAF in their tireless effort to provide aid and services for the animals in their care, please check out the upcoming events and make a donation via their website at www.stafnj.org
