Today at 10:00 a.m. until Sunday, July 17 Adoption Hours: July 14 & 15: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. July 16 & 17: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Where:
The Toronto Humane Society 11 River St., Toronto

Why:
The Friends 4 Ever Adopt-a-thon is the Toronto Humane Society's first ever four day adopt-a-thon. The Society has over 400 cats, 100 dogs and dozens of small domestic animals desperately waiting to find their forever homes. Although the adopt-a-thon was originally scheduled to take place in the Society's dog park, the heat alert for the next few days has made it necessary for all adoptions to take place in the comfort of the air-conditioned shelter.

SHARE A CHAIR WITH YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND: Anyone who adopts a dog or cat will have his/her name entered into a draw to win either a Cat or Dog Goodie Basket and a beautiful wooden Muskoka Chair. Free movie passes from Warner Brothers for the upcoming movie Must Love Dogs will be included with each adoption and other give-away goodies will be available during the event.

The Toronto Humane Society also wishes to remind pet owners that the extreme heat is dangerous and sometimes deadly for pets as well as humans.
