12th Los Angeles PET ADOPTION FESTIVAL

-- Two-Day Phenomenon Matches People with Pets from Over 50 Local Rescue Groups

Best Friends Animal Society produces its 12th Los Angeles PET ADOPTION FESTIVAL -- the third in 2004 -- on Saturday and Sunday, November 6th and 7th, at La Brea Tar Pits Park from 11 am to 4 pm. Admission is free.

"Each time we do a Los Angeles Adoption Festival, the attendance and adoption numbers increase substantially," says Best Friends Animal Society co-founder Francis Battista. "We're delighted that we can help find homes for these animals and that more and more people are adopting their pets from shelters and rescue groups. The programs that we develop in L.A. will be seeded in other parts of the country as we move towards the long-term goal of NO MORE HOMELESS PETS, nationwide."

Over 50 local rescue groups, including "Akita Buddies," "Beagles & Buddies," "Boxer Rescue," "Dachshund Rescue," "German Shepherd Rescue," Golden Retriever Rescue," "Happy Strays," "Helping Persian Cats," "Lhasa Happy Homes," "Little Angels Pug Rescue," "Parrots First," "Siberian Husky Rescue," "Southland Collie Rescue," and "St. Bernard Rescue'" will present their animals for adoption.

Best Friends Animal Society operates the nation's largest sanctuary for abandoned and abused animals and is located in the red rock country of southern Utah.
