The sites founder, Steve Johnson, has been building websites since 1997 specializing on selling advertising space. At that time he gained most of his experience working with new genealogy and family history companies by helping them market their new websites online.

Steve organized his Internet publishing business under the name, “Clear Digital Media”, back in November of 2003. Clear Digital Media also publishes websites in other markets, such as real estate, home improvement, and scrap booking. As Clear Digital Media grows, and its business and revenue increases, Steve will be moving operations out of his home into an office, and will hire people to keep all the websites fresh and up to date.

Wanting to go in a different direction, Steve launched Doggienews.com in June of 2004.
“I wanted to branch out into other markets. Dogs seemed to be a solid market, as there are thousands of businesses large and small, all using the Internet to market themselves. On top of that, there are millions of people out there who own dogs, or want to own one, and analysis data shows immense volumes of people searching for dog-oriented keywords and phrases. So, when you combine the lucrative pet industry, with the huge consumer demand for dogs, you've got a great environment for website publishing success.”

In addition to operating Clear Digital Media, Steve also maintains partnerships with other people who have a keen eye on the Internet. Steve explains, “DoggieNews.com is helping me to understand the pet industry better, and understand the needs of pet-owning consumers. My ultimate goal is to find another niche in the pet industry, where I can team up with my partners to build a much more sophisticated, and hopefully, more lucrative website venture.”

When Steve launched DoggieNews.com, it seemed like a great way to get in on the online pet industry. He found that while there are lots of books and magazines on dogs, he didn't necessarily find much information online in a usable form. Thus, Steve discovered a demand to fill. He adds, “The emerging technology with RSS makes it really easy to get our news headlines syndicated through hundreds of online outlets. For that reason, a "doggie news" website seemed like a great way to achieve quick success in this market.”

Steve envisions that DoggieNews.com will one day syndicate its entire news content to other outlets, including print outlets, instead of just syndicating its headlines. This may one day warrant its own team of writers and reporters. But don't let this business savvy entrepreneur fool you! He has a special buddy named, Max, that also gives him some inspiration for Doggienews.com. “I am also a dog owner myself” explains Steve, “I adopted a rat terrier named Max, from a local animal rescue organization. Since then, Max and I have become great buddies. Once DoggieNews.com is able to generate more sizeable advertising revenue, I plan to share the profits with animal rescue organizations in my area."
