Got a Photogenic Pooch? This Costume Contest Is for You!

Some people can't resist dressing up their dogs, whether it's a simple doggy sweater in chilly weather or a fully coordinated and accessorized outfit. For those people -- and for anyone who wants to have some seasonal fun with the four-legged members of their family -- the annual Howl-O-Ween pet photo contest is the perfect opportunity.

Pet Butler, the nation's leading pet waste cleanup service, sponsors the contest, in which dog owners across the country can submit photos of their pooches in creative and amusing Halloween costumes. Winners get prizes plus the chance to gain fame for their canine companions.

Picture your Pekingese dressed as a pilgrim, or your Beagle as a ballerina, and you can see the possibilities. Last year's grand prize winner, Janet Martin of North Carolina, wowed contest judges with a photo of her pet Bulldog dressed as a pirate.

This year, winners will be chosen online by visitors to the Pet Butler website (http://www.petbutler.com). In addition to the grand prize, there will be prizes for winners in the Cutest Costume, Most Photogenic, Scariest Dog, and Cutest Group categories.

The grand prize is three months of free dog poop-scooping service for winners who live in an area served by Pet Butler, or an equivalent prize. Other winners will receive the official "Got Poop?" Pet Butler T-shirt and other fun prizes.

All photo entries will be posted on the Pet Butler website on October 17. For one week, site visitors can vote for their favorite entries. Winners will be announced October 29.

"After the success of last year's contest, we're really looking forward to seeing how creative people can get, and how much fun we can have this year," said Matt 'Red' Boswell, CEO (Chief Excrement Officer) of Pet Butler. "And with the online voting, we're really opening this year's contest to the world."

It costs nothing to enter, and pet owners can submit their pet's photo by e-mail or mail, along with their name, phone numbers, city and state, and e-mail address. E-mailed entries can be submitted to TheScoop@PetButler.com. Postally mailed entries can be sent to Pet Butler Contest, 5713 Maidstone, Richardson, TX 75082. Deadline for all entries is October 12. Full contest rules and entry information can be found at http://www.petbutler.com, under contest pages.
