About Us

I've always had a love and fasination for animals. I had my first dog when I was 3. I founded Petorama.com in February 1999. I was inspired by my love for animals, especially my best friend Ducky, a Corgi Mix. It was his unwavering devotion for me that is the driving force of the site then and now. A job promotion and transfer lead to 12 hour work days, which forced me to put Petorama.com on the back burner for awhile. On December 4, 2000, Ducky passed away after 20 years at my side.

The site was always something I dreamt about, but I lacked the programming knowledge to make it reality. In the spring of 2004, I had the misfortune (or fortune) of being laid off. With this newly found free time, I was able to concentrate on finally assembling Petorama.com.

I found an excellent web designer, bit the financial bullet, and plunged headfirst into launching the site in August of 2004. I now have four new best friends to inspire me. They are Scooby, a Toy Pomeranian, Daisy, a Fox Terrier mix, Lulu, our little Pug and mascot of Petorama.com and last, but not least, my lovely wife Maureen. (Sorry! No Pet Page for her!)

It is my hope that everyone who visits the site will take time to celebrate their pet in this fun and easy environment.
