Conclusion:

It wasn't difficult to get our tester, Lulu figure out that the Auto Pet Feeder was her very own vending machine. She wasn't able to figure out why the Auto Pet Feeder gave her food only at her normal feeding time. Every time she walks by it she has to stick her nose in it just to see if any delicious morsels fell out, but no suck luck.

Lulu's internal clock goes off at 4:50 every morning (on the weekends too!) and she's ready to eat even if the rest of aren't up yet, which doesn't seem to matter to her. Having the Auto Pet Feeder has been a blessing to us. Lulu can now get up at her normal time, have her breakfast and come back to bed without disturbing anyone.

You can see in the photo below that Lulu is very satisfied, so much so, she's licking her lips!
